Learning Support Assistant, Hearing Impaired Unit
Salary Range (for BSL stage 2) £18,426 - £21,166 (FTE)
15-25 hours per week, term time only.
Westgate is a large primary school in Bury St Edmunds. The school has 337 children from Nursery through to Year 6 and a Hearing Impaired Unit.

We have a supportive and caring staff who work together in year groups, key stages and across the whole school.
We are currently recruiting for an SEN Learning Support Assistant experienced in working with children with hearing impairment. The Unit caters for children with severe to profound hearing loss from the age of three to eleven.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a dedicated unit within a mainstream primary school, supporting support hearing impaired children integrated into their mainstream classes. This post is for 15-25 hours per week commencing September 2020.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with young people. They will be deaf aware, proficient in sign and have British Sign Language qualification Level 1 as a minimum requirement, or be prepared to undertake the course eventually achieving Level 2.
