Welcome to Year 3!
Supporting Home Learning
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following the successful home learning provision Westgate put in place from last March, we want to ensure you can access work for your children at any point if they are needing to self-isolate. All home learning work set last academic year is still available on each of the Year Group Pages and your child can now work through the tasks for their new year group. You do not need to worry about the date that it was set.
To support and supplement this work, there is also a link for the national provider called The Oak Academy. There is a huge amount of work here for you to choose from. Staff may well direct you to particular pages if any of our bubbles need to go into isolation, but otherwise, please feel free to browse to an appropriate link that you feel will stimulate and support your child's learning.
If a child is unwell, we do not expect them to complete work at home until they are well enough to do so.
Purple Mash - Curriculum focussed activities to support home learning
Please look in your 2Dos folder as your teacher has set you some activities to complete. Also, check your Class Blog (see below) for additional home learning tasks.
Class Blog - An exciting way to communicate with your friends and teachers
It would be nice to know how you're all getting on, so please leave a message on your Class Blog at least once a week. You can reply to posts and your teachers will be joining in and leaving messages for you to read. You will find the class blog under sharing in Purple Mash.
Click on shared blogs, then the white cross on the top right to leave a blog post. Happy Blogging!
Your post will be read and approved by your teacher.
Please email Mrs Goodwin email@example.com for login details or further information regarding Purple Mash.
Please note, if you are unable to access the internet easily at home, weekly, printed home learning packs will be available from our school office between the hours of 10:00-12:00 and 1:30-3:30.
If you would like any further information or have a question to ask about home learning, please do not hesitate to email a teacher on the following email firstname.lastname@example.org
A staff member will get back to you as soon as possible, although this might not always be straight away due to personal circumstances or technical issues beyond their control.
If you feel you just need a listening ear, do get in contact with us here at school on 01284 755988 - there will always be someone who can talk things through with you.
Thank you for working with us to support your child's learning.
